Second Look is a browser extension designed to help users pause and reconsider before completing important online actions. Your privacy is important, and this extension is built to respect it.
Data Collection
Second Look does not transmit or share any personal data. All processing happens locally on your device.
Specifically:
- No personally identifiable information is collected.
- Browsing activity is processed locally to generate daily statistics (e.g., visit counts for the focus score), but this data is stored only on your device and never transmitted to external servers.
- No website content (such as form inputs, passwords, or page text) is accessed or saved.
- No user activity (such as clicks, keystrokes, or mouse movements) is logged.
- No location, financial, authentication, or communication data is collected.
All functionality runs locally in the user’s browser.
Second Look locally stores:
- Counters for how many tabs are opened.
- Aggregate counts of visits to specific websites for the current day.
This data is stored in your browser's local storage and is never sent to any server.
Permissions
Any permissions requested by Second Look are used only to provide its core functionality, such as detecting when to display a pause or confirmation prompt. These permissions are not used for tracking, analytics, or data collection.
